MBA StudentsThe Department of Business Management, St. Joseph’s PG College, had its inception in the year 2001.The Department of Business Management offers a two-year full time programme of Masters in Business Administration, affiliated to Osmania University and approved by All India Council for Technical Education.

It started with an intake of 40 students and was upgraded to 120 seats in the year 2004-05. The department is guided by Director, Prof. K.Malla Reddy who is enriched with 38 years of experience in the Teaching field and worked as a Dean in the Department of Economics, Osmania University.

The Department of Business Management has well qualified and dedicated staff .It has a comfortable faculty student ratio of 1:15. Right from the inception, the Department believed in high academic values and exceptional content delivery to the students.

For conceptual understanding of the curriculum, the department conducts Bridge Courses in the topics like Statistics, Accountancy, Computers & Communication skills and also relevant certificate courses are conducted to enhance the students’ employability.

The Faculty members  employ a variety of pedagogy like lecture method, role play, case studies, GDs  Mock court  etc., for effective content delivery.

Various Co-curricular activities are organized through Management cells : Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Cells to train and enhance the students’ employability skills.

Every year the Department organizes industrial tours both Local and Outstation for MBA First years and Second years respectively to foster practical application/understanding of the curriculum.

Year after year, the MBA First years are oriented about their course, attitude and utilization of their skills and are also exposed to a real-time environment programme at select places through Outbound training programmes.

  Student one-to one interface with the Principal Rev.Fr.Dr.V.K.Swamy, when he visits their class for     academic inventory is one of the most important best practices which promotes better and realistic     teaching learning environment.

  Inter Departmental Certificate Course in Management

  Mock Viva sessions and Interview sessions are conducted

  Case study Methodology, Group Discussions , Poster and Advertisement preparation, slide show and     student presentations are routine interesting teaching learning practices adopted by the Department

  Centre for Knowledge Management is a repository of author-ware ppts, board notes, handouts,     assignments and other case study materials which is part of e-content management initiatives of the     Department.
  Highlights of Departmental Events
  In 2002, the department conducted a grand student event at BVB Auditorium “Genesis” with over 600     students from various colleges participating in it.
  The students from the first batch achieved 100 % results at OU exam.
  In 2005 the college reached academic heights with Mr. Ram Kumar being awarded the Gold Medal at OU.
  In the year 2006 the first ever National Seminar in the history of St. Joseph’s college was conducted with     a dozen eminent resource persons and the Director of prestigious XLRI  Fr.Casimir Raj SJ graced the     occasion. The seminar was inaugurated by Prof. K C Reddy chairman APSCHE and the valedictory     witnessed the release of souvenir and the address by Prof.Suleman Siddique ,Vice-Chancellor O U.
  Workshop on Case study and Teaching Methodologies in Management Education was conducted by our     department on 19th & 20th Jan 2008. The Work shop was inaugurated by Prof. S.N. Sharma, Head,     Department of Business Management, OU and Valedictory Address was delivered by Prof. M R Rao, Dean     of the prestigious Indian School of Business(ISB).
