About Department Of Business Management

The Department of Business Management had its inception in the year 2001. The Department of Business Management offers a two-year full time programme of Masters in Business Administration, affiliated to Osmania University and Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Business Management) approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Master of Business Management course started with an intake of 40 students which gradually increased to 120 in the year 2004-05 and 180 in the year 2019-20. The college received autonomous status for PG in the year 2013 and offers Choice Based Credit System from the academic year 2015-2016. The department offers dual specialization from the academic year 2014-2015 onwards and Operations as one of the specialisation for MBA students apart from HR, Marketing and Finance from 2018-2019 year onwards.

  4. 6th Rank in Private B-School category in Telangana, 25th Rank at all India level in Top B –schools of Excellence by CSR-GHRDC in November 2019.
  5. Ranked 227th All India Level among B-Schools by India Today Magazine October 2019.
  6. Ranked 12th in South among BBA Colleges by Times BBA Education Ranking survey 2019.
  1. Student Management Fest conducted in January 2019 had more than 15 colleges and 250 plus students’ participation.

Organised Three day International Conference on “Innovation and re-engineering of management practices for sustainability” in collaboration with TSCHE from 31 Jan – 2nd February with 29 resource persons/management experts (16 academicians + 13 industry experts) – 80 plus papers published with ISBN No. 978-93-5299-723-7 and ISSN no. 2349-5162

  1. Ms Nikita Singh of MBA was awarded the Gold Medal at OU for securing highest marks in MBA at OU in 2012.This is the second time St. Joseph’s College gets Gold Medal in the University for the MBA program.

Workshop on Case study and Teaching Methodologies in Management Education was conducted on 19th & 20th Jan 2008. The Chief Guests for the Workshop were Prof. S.N. Sharma, Head,  Department of Business Management, OU and Prof. M R Rao, Dean of the prestigious Indian School of Business(ISB).

The college was issued permanent Affiliation by O.U.

  1. The first ever National Seminar in the history of St. Joseph’s college was conducted with a dozen eminent resource persons and the Director of prestigious XLRI Fr. Casimir Raj SJ graced the occasion. The Chief Guests were Prof. K C Reddy Chairman APSCHE and Prof. Suleman Siddique, Vice-Chancellor OU. More than 800 students from various colleges in twin cities participated.

The college reached academic heights with Mr. Ram Kumar being awarded the Gold Medal at OU.

The students from the first batch achieved 100 % results at OU exam

The Department conducted a grand student event at BVB Auditorium “Genesis” with over 600 students from various colleges participating in it.
